HK Pharmacy Conference 2016

Esco greatly appreciate your visit in our booth in the recently held Hong Kong Pharmacy Conference 2016 last February 27-28, 2016 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre with the theme “The Art and Science of Integrated Pharmacy Practice”.

As quoted from Prof. Vincent H.L. Lee, Chairman of the Organizing Committee, “pharmacy profession in Hong Kong strives to elevate the standards of practice by continuously integrating the latest advances in science and technology.” The goal is to assure public’s access to effective, safe, affordable medicine. But how? This is through the participation of the different team players in achieving this goal. The government through its Food and Health Bureau, Department of Health and Hospital Authority shall cater in the development of policies while the private sector shall provide support to the government by ensuring that the medicines they supply are affordable, effective and safe.

In the side of chemotherapy compounding, regulations have been upgraded to ensure the safety of the patient, healthcare personnel, and environment while maintaining the quality of the drug prepared. As stated in the recently published USP 800, even the preparation of low volume of hazardous drugs shall be done in a separate area designated for hazardous drug compounding.

Esco has been responsive in providing equipment suitable in the preparation of hazardous drugs in accordance to the recently published USP 800.  As a matter of fact, Esco has brought its latest innovation in its line of isolators to the Hong Kong Pharmacy Conference – the Isoclean® Healthcare Platform Isolator (HPI-G3) – optimized solution for aseptic/potent applications.

HPI-G3 facilitates the isolation of a product or process while providing the requirement for sterile/ aseptic environment. It is used to provide a Grade A (ISO Class 5) environment hence the background environment can be of a lower classification (Grade D or ISO Class 7) which can redound to less running costs in PPE, utilities, consumables and monitoring. HPI-G3 also boasts its ergonomic design for personnel comfort and ease of cleaning, while providing protection against exposure to hazardous drugs.
